Incredible India!!! Invincible India completely dominates Pakistan in the World Cup. It is seventh time India win over Pakistan in the World Cup. In this world cup India showing again and again that how strong they are as a team. Everybody is contributing made the team effort to a good level. India carries their positivity; confidence and high spirit from the previous matches win here also and give a Pakistan a strong reply of the loss in Champion Trophy 2017 final.

A lot more talk about KL Rahul would be open the inning with Rohit Sharma after Shikhar Dhawan got injured against Australia and couldn’t play for 3 weeks. This is the first time when Rahul and Rohit would be open for India. Both India and Pakistan fans was crossing their fingers that their teams would do well in the game, also rain would be stay far and far away from the Old Trafford, Manchester. Pakistan won the toss and elected to field first. At first its look the decision was not in favor of India and Team India would face tough time.

Indian openers started well, on one side Rohit made a quick start and on the opposite Rahul had a slow and steady start. Rohit had completed his quick 50 in just 34 balls, fastest by him in ODI. KL Rahul optimizes the full opportunity he got and made a valuable 57 runs and scored a highest opening partnership of 136 runs against Pakistan in WC. Captain Kohli made again a strong remark against Pakistan as he has always carries a good record. With scoring 57^th run he completed fastest 11,000 in ODI in 222 innings whereas Tendulkar completed in 276 innings. Kohli played another crucial inning of 77 runs and put India in command with Rohit Sharma. Rohit Sharma completed his 24 century in ODI and 2^nd in this WC. Rohit made special 140 runs is his highest against Pakistan. India batted well and with good pace. How would be the weather in Manchester, the most discussed point. Would there be another washed out in this WC. Rain was just made a little hindrance in Indian innings in the 47 overs. Luckily it didn’t last long and passing shower finished quickly. Hardik Pandya was not looking as good as he was against Australia, struggling in the starting and later to score quickly he got out at 26, Vijay Shankar WC debutant for India and Kedar Jadhav both contributed in the end to take India 336 runs in their 50 overs. It’s a daunting total for Pakistan to chase.

Pakistan, who was down after a loss against Australia, was looking not in a great touch. Both openers Imam ul Haq and Fakhar Zaman was clearly struggling against Bhuvneshwar and Bumrah. Bhuvneshwar line and length was outstanding, he bowls in full command, but unfortunately for India, he got hamstring problem and had to leave the field for the rest of the match. Leaving the field in the middle over of Bhuvneshwar would get the wicket, who thinks that?? But that’s happen here as Captain Kohli had to bring Vijay Shankhar earlier for the bowling. On the first ball he got the wicket of Imam Ul Haq. Vijay Shankhar became the first Indian to take the wicket on the first delivery in the WC. Losing the 1^st wicket on the score of 13, make Pakistan more cautious. Fakhar and Babar Azam both started playing cautiously and slowly making a nice partnership and try to give team some platform to chase a big total. As they taking strokes freely and looking dangerous for India, Indian chinaman spinner Kuldeep Yadav bowled Babar Azam with a beautiful delivery. The boy is some special class, the kind of delivery he bowled to Babar simply outstanding. Kuldeep not stop here, in his very next over he got out Fakhar also with another beautiful deliver. More to this Pakistan lost his two best batsmen Hafeez and Shoaib Malik got out by Hardik Pandya on the consecutive delivery. Suddenly, Pakistan was looking out of the game in the span of just 4 overs. At one stage Fakhar and Babar was batting well on 117/1 in 23.5 overs and rattled down to 129/5 in 27 overs. They lost 4 wickets for 12 runs in just 4 overs. India commanded the situation very well and brilliant captaincy by Kohli. Full marks to him the way he shuffled his bowlers and field setting. Captain Sharfaraz and Imad Wasim were tried to build a partnership but that’s not work it out as Vijay Shankar again came into action and bowled Sharfaraz on the score of 35, Pakistan were 165/6. Rain again halted the match in the 35 over, this time for a longer duration. As a result overs and target were revised according to D/L method. Revised target for Pakistan was 302 in 40 overs, looking far more impossible to achieve. It’s now just a formality to complete the match. India was looking clearly winner as the situation. Imad and Shadab were tried to score as much as possible, Indian wrap up the formality quickly and Pakistan were 212/6 in 40 overs. India won convincingly by 89 runs.

Team India is still unbeatable in the tournament. India is just clicking in every channel and department. They played some brilliant cricket all round, batsman bowlers as well as fielding was high class. Kohli is looking in full aggression with his captaincy in this WC, taking proactive and positive decisions. He is always on his fielders asking for more tightness in the field; don’t allow any loose gap in the fielding. Pakistan was looking clearly out of touch. Before the toss, both captains want to field first as its overcast conditions, but Pakistani bowlers didn’t able to take the benefit from the conditions, giving short balls and way off line and length allowed Indians to score freely. No one looked in proper shape except Amir. Later, it was looking it’s a Good Toss to Loose for Kohli.

Team India carries a positive mind set and high spirit looking very dangerous side. The most suitable side with competitive batting and bowling side and a special wicket keeper like MS Dhoni, all this is showing, how strong the side is to challenge any team.

Everybody was thinking it was India who would win the match but Team India with high spirit and positive mind set shows the positive intact and played like a true hero. Men in Blue are shining like a silver star. India has beaten convincingly the previous World Champion by 36 runs. Out of the 12 encounters in the WC this is the only 4^th occasion after WC 1983, 1987 and 2011 when Team India beat Australia.

Team India made the strong statement in the world cup 2019 as they can’t be taking easy and they are the major contender of this world cup 2019. If the bowling did the job in the match against S. Africa and here at the Oval, it’s all about India’s batting today at the Oval and majorly top 3 which is most talked about before the tournament.

On the other hand, Australia reinforces their rejuvenation and come back after the win against Afghanistan and West Indies. You just can’t ignore Australia so easily they can bounce back into the game anytime, so in reality it would be 50-50 chances for both the teams.

 India scores daunting task of 352 for the Aussies. Opener Rohit Sharma and Shilhar Dhawan started the play cautiously and calmly and took full time to settle down and keep Australia on their toes by playing some brilliant shots and scored at good rate. They laid the foundation by opening century 127 runs partnership. This provides Kohli and companies some relaxation in the middle. Kohli played another crucial captain knock by providing full stability in the middle overs scored very quickly and has done brilliant 93 partnership with Dhawan. Later on Hardiya Pandya, Dhoni and KL Rahul got the full leverage to cash on the run, as they got in at right time on the crease in the last 15 overs to scored at brisk rate and with well settled Kohli on the other end. These all just took the match away from the Australia. Team India scores 116 runs in last 10 over’s. All this efforts took the scoreboard to a formidable total, looking very much competitive for the Aussies. Hardik, Dhoni and KL Rahul scored 86 runs in just 44 balls giving some brilliant moments to watch of the Team India batting.

The kind of batting line up Australia have you can’t say they couldn’t chase the target, the pitch is also looking flat and suitable for batting. Australia was looking for slow and steady start David Warner and Aaron Finch were playing cautiously to keep the wickets in hand, and put team in the run chase. Unfortunately, confusion in taking second run got the Finch to the Indians and giving them the break through at the time when they were looking dangerous. Smith and Warner tried to build on the partnership but beautifully bowled by Chahal got out Warner at 56 the slowest fifty ever scored by Warner. Smith and Khawaja played superbly and keep the team in the hunt. But 3 wickets in 4 overs has changed the game towards India. First Bumrah got rid of Khawaja and later on Smith LBW and on the next delivery Stoinis bowled by Bhuvneshwar, back to back wickets in 2balls just hurt Australia. Bhuvneshwar Kumar was the pick of the bowlers from both the team, who bowled excellently. Glenn Maxwell was looking dangerous and keeps India on the back foot till the time he was in the middle. Australia scores 63 runs in 6 overs till the he was in. He got out by another tricky one from Chahal. That would be the turning point of the game which turned the game on India side as Maxwell looked dangerous and if he would stand some more time on the crease then it would be definitely Australia’s game as the wicketkeeper Alex Carey played out some outstanding inning scored 55 in just 35 balls and didn’t allow India to win easily and keep alone fighting till the end. Australia bowled out on the last delivery of the match at 316.

 This is just an outstanding effort by Team India clicking in every department of the game ticking every boxes, as 2 win in 2 matches against bigger teams. On the other hand this loss hurt Australia very badly as with this loss their last 11 ODI consecutive wins comes to end. This is the first time Australia lost the match in the run chase in world cups since losing to Pakistan in Leeds in 1999. After 20 years and 5 world cups the winning streak of 19 ODI consecutive wins batting second in world cup since then has comes to end today against Team India.  

 Team India carries their Positive intact, High confidence and high spirit to the next game easily and must be good command for the match against New Zealand. The team has only concerned about the Shikhar Dhavan injury. How it will get shape, there will be chances of he will miss next game against New Zealand. In this World Cup 2019, Team India is the 2^nd favorite after the host England. A week after the world Cup 2019 already started, India campaign would be starting from today here in Southampton. As the South Africa is already wounded after the two loses, especially the loss against Bangladesh hurt them badly. Problems are not leaving SA, Team got the major blow as pacer Dale Steyn is out of the World Cup 2019, and replace by Bueran Hendricks, and also Lungi Ngidi missed the match which more affects them. This is crucial match for the team as they have to win it for a moral boost.

South Africa won the toss and captain Faf DuPlessis opted to Bat first, looked strange decision as the condition and pitch was calling to Bowl first. Proteas looked dismay from the starting as both the openers would be sent back to pavilion by Indian pacer Bumrah. Captain Du Plessis and Van der Dussen tried to make a partnership but spinner Chahal bowled both of them in the same over and send them back at the score to leave S Africa tottering at 80/4. Some recovery done by David Miller and Andile Phehlukwayo but Proteas has no answer for Chahal webbing and looking down and out at the score 158/7. Later some brilliant efforts by Chris Morris and Kagiso Rabada to took South Africa to 227/9 to give some chance to themselves to reply back India strongly and making them tough to reach the target.

India is hot favorites for the World Cup and also for the match after the 1 inning. India got the tough reply both from Rabada and Morris. They both bowled brilliantly taking full little bit help from what pitch is offering. Rohit Sharama was lucky twice as half chances didn’t convert by the Proteas. Not too late, Rabada got rid of Shikhar Dhawan gave early break through and some satisfaction to South Africa. Riding on his luck Rohit calm and compose hung in there and build up his inning nicely and moving the scoreboard timely. Captain Kohli tried to build on the partnership but unfortunate dismissed as Wicket Keeper De Kock took the stunner one handed catch. Rahul promised much with a good performance against Bangladesh in the warm up match. He deserved the chance. Rahul and Rohit made the good partnership of 85 runs but Rahul 26 departs again create some worry as S African bowlers didn’t give easy runs and making tough for India to score. India at 139/3 was still behind by 89 runs and pacer Rabada, Morris and Phehlukwayo the way they were bowling anything could be happened, couple of more wickets and India would be looking into serious trouble but sending Cool Dhoni up the order has done trick. Well Settled Rohit and Dhoni slowly and gradually again built up the good partnership, in the process Rohit Sharma completed his 23^rd Century. He became third highest in terms of maximum century scored by an Indian after Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar 49 and Captain Kohli 41. Dhoni got out at 34 by Morris; by the time he went to pavilion it was just a formality to win as only 15 runs were required. Hardik Pandya new batsman at the crease made did more easy for Rohit who was anchoring the ship from the starting, by smashing 3 boundries and reached the target. India looked easy to reach the target and won by 6 wickets.

Proteas must be in perturbation after plunge to 3 loses which horrifying them with lot of doubts, whether they can maintain to be remain the competition. Captain Du Plessis and Coach Ottis Gibson should be in a deep thinking to take the team back to winning path. Injuries as well as Lack in form Amla, Miller and Duminy are the major fret for both captain and coach.  There should be a lot scrutiny should be done by the S. Africa on their performances, as they also know this is not their level of playing the game.

India should be much relax and happy side. Filled with positivity and high enthusiasm Team India will be on cloud nine. Captain Kohli was much impressive in the game, he was busy himself, making proactive decisions, keeping his fielders on their toes with regular fielding changes and admonishing on some loose fielding, make  good bowling changes time to time which give India to tighten the grip on S. Africa. He always under the shadow of Dhoni but it’s a rare time when he led firmly.  This is what Team India was looking for, wonderful result as they chip in most of the department, Pacer Bumrah and spinner Chahal looked in looked in full command, Middle order No.4 argue?? Rahul looked solid the time he spent on the crease. Good Match for Team India must be take lots of positive out of the match. According to the Pakistan last match mortify defeat against West Indies. There are many doubts before the start of the play. Would Pakistan be managed to stop their 11 ODI loses streak? Would they manage to tackle Englishmen as they had a humiliating series defeat against them in the last month? Pakistan is nowhere to answer all these but it more look like that their losing streak will continue and they add another blow to their losing tally.

On contrary of all the above doubts, Pakistan looks absolutely different side against England today. They look positive and played positively from the start. We need to give credit for their great mental strength to rejuvenate them and deliver such a fantastic performance here.

They just try to make a successful comeback after 105 all out the crushing defeat against West Indies and previous 11 continuous ODI lost.  Capricious Pakistan played like what they known for, the unpredictable side shows some harsh and handy cricket and making their mark by suppressing England in the competition. They played outstandingly and out class Englishmen in every department.

Imam Ul Haq 44 and Fakhar Zaman 36 gave Pakistan the brilliant start just what they needed from them a well set platform for a competitive total. With high quality of middle order performances Babar Azam 63, Mohammad Hafeez 84 and Captain Sarfaaz 55 are making sure that team reached to a formidable record chase total of 348 for the England. If England has to won this they have to chase a record total surpassing previous successful chase 329/7 by Ireland against England only. Despite the pitch is batting friendly England Captain Eoin Morgan opt to bowl after won the toss. The decision he took, he must be repented on that as what Pakistan has done here no one can imagine after their frustrated losing match against Windies.

Englishmen really looked out of the competition. Batting didn’t click what they delivered a month ago in the home series against same side, looked vanished today here. Jason Roy and Johny Bairstow how just the duo battered Pakistan in last month, are faded away today. Captain Morgan and Strokes are also bundled out cheaply.  Except Joe Root hard efforts 107 runs, and later on magnificent fastest century in the World Cup Jos Buttler 103 in just 75 balls gave the Pakistan some tough time in the middle. Both played extremely well and fought hard but couldn’t take the England near to the target. Except both the centurion no other player seems to tackle the Pakistan bowling. England lost by 14 runs.

One wrong decision will change the whole complexion of game. Won the toss and opt for field on batting favoring pitch will be repented by Morgan again and again. Adding to this England seems lethargic in field (except Chris Wokes he was outstanding in the field as took couple of brilliant catches), various misfields. England needs some thinking on the today performance.

Pakistan must be on a high spirit, a convincing victory which ends their record losing streak. Reviving them from the terrible loses and giving this brilliant performance like this is just not an easy. Pakistan has played differently and smartly. What is going to happens here no one has any idea? No team can be taken lightly; each is different in some class and has something special. This is what just Bangladesh is proving again and again at world stage. Every time when we think of Bangladesh we think it as easy-going and ineffective team, but every now or then tigers proves them with some outclass performances. You just can’t ignore them easily now. They are here to play some serious cricket and can be good competitor for anyone.

As the Bangladesh tigers did some serious upset in the previous World Cups also. They had beaten Pakistan (1999), India and South Africa (2007) and again in world cup 2015 they beat England at the big stage. These performances set the high confidence and give some positive energy to the team. Without going some extra mile tigers again caught its old prey Proteas this time also.

Bangladesh looks positive in the batting as Soumya Sarkar (42) did the fiery hitting and started well. Shakib-Al-Hassan (75) and Mushfiqur Rahim (78) has done an excellent record stand partnership and set tone for the team for a big total. Later on Mahmudullah and Mossadek Hossain powers helped to give a finishing touch to reach a daunting total of 330, enough to give Proteas a good fight back and defend the total.

South Africa batting looks again dim and fumble. With Captain Faf Du Plessis (62) and hard work of Van Der Dussen (41) and Markram (42) is not enough to reach the final score. Wickets falling at the regular intervals put brakes on the Proteas scoring line.  Later on JP Duminy (45) do some left alone fight back but couldn’t change the bad day for the team. Sending Miller up the order is not looking a convincing idea from nowhere. He is known for a big hitting in the death overs. The team needs a dominant player in the middle order to control these tough situations.

Proteas need to do a lot of introspection in every area to stay alive in the competition. The last two performances will not at all suit their standards, the team which has known for high standards looks out of path and nowhere in the competition. The Proteas is clearly missing Dale Steyn in the pace attack, which let the opposition to do well. There are few more problems which South Africa has to resolve as soon as possible.

No more Surprises, Bangladesh just adds another star to their victory tally. It seems like they are on a mission, they came in advance here in Ireland to be fit for the English conditions, do all the hard work and prepare well. This is not the upset in the tournament anymore Bangladesh just rises from the level of minnows and turned into bully here for South Africa and not to be minnows anymore. Tigers raised their bar from the underdogs and delivered a fully fledged victory of vindication. You have to give full credit to Bangladesh for poaching again its old prey and gave them a fantastic start for this World Cup journey.  Lets carry on…the journey of this colorful World Cup and enjoy the excitement of different shades of ups and down.  

Before starting match there is only one question in most of us mind. Could Sri Lankan capture its previous prey the high spirited black caps this time also in their opening match of world cup 2019?  Sri Lanka which are not in a good form and waiting for a good series win from a long time seems in a tight pressure as facing the New Zealand.

Sri Lanka is not looking as good as it was earlier since the last World Cup 2015, with almost a completely new and different side. Senior member like pacer Lasith Malinga, Angelo Mathews and Thisara Perera only shows the side with some positive elements. The side is clearly missing the charm of earlier high class performer like Kumar Sangakara, Mahela Jayawardene, Muthiah Muralitharan and few others.

New Zealand the runners up of the last time world cup 2015, still proves them as a good side which continuously showing a high class performance since the last world cup.  The power of Martin Guptill, Colin Munro and Ross Taylor with brilliantly led by Kane Williamson will give black caps a perfect side with the advantage like pace attack Matt Henry, Tim Southe and Trent Boult.

Kiwis is still waiting for their maiden world cup. On previous occasion the black caps were beaten by the Lankan lions twice in a back to back Semi Final in 2007 and 2011, but as the time changes so the fortune and black caps just do that change the pages of history this time. They beat Sri Lanka convincingly in this World Cup by 10 wickets. Lankan don’t have any reply for Kiwis bowlers Matt Henry and Lockie Ferguson used the green deck beautifully and dismissed them on 136. Lankan looked pale yellow with their poor show. Later on, Martin Guptil and Colin Munro clinical batting display splashed water on Lankan rest little hope. Sri Lanka didn’t grab their early chances which let them down in the field.

So lets watch out, Kiwis are not any more prey for Lankan lions and run safely without clutching under the claws of the lions. Lankan lions are on the verge of stop roaring any more. They looked down and sluggish and disheartened with poor display at the world cup stage. Is doom really arriving for the Lankan lions or they will change their fate with their cards. Watch out!!

The Old master of the game which is deviated from its path for a long time is trying hard again to be back in the game and follow what their old generation was to be.  The saying “Old is Gold” is truely proved by West Indies when they beat Pakistan in their opening game of this World Cup.

West Indies rocked Pakistan with their fast bowling so hard that it just recall the saga of 1970-80’s, the time when West Indies tantrum was so high that their bowling unit was unanswerable for anybody in the world. Under the lights of Joel Garner, Andy Roberts, Malcom Marshal, Michael Holding, Courtney Walsh, Curtly Ambrose and few more speed star that rocked every side with their speed.

 The side of 70-80’s were so powerful with leader like Sir Viv Richards and Clive Lloyd that they easily conquered continuously two world cup 1975 and 79. Also, in 1983 they played like a champion but this time Team India turn around the table and won the world cup

In the meantime Pakistan was trying to understand how to manage the fast bowling, Oshone Thomas and Jason Holder quick fast bowling just blown away them. This whole thing was looking like a flashback of West Indies old generation fast bowling which I watched in videos in early days of my life. Pakistan scored just 105 run which West Indies (108/3) scored in 13 overs beating Pakistan by 7 wickets. Playing his last tournament Chris Gayle powerful 50 made target more easier for the Windies.    

Now, as West Indies are in pretty good form and in high spirit after thrashing New Zealand in the warm –up and Pakistan in the league matches, the side looks interesting with Gayle and Russell powers in the batting while Oshone Thomas fiery fast bowling will give them the chance to upset anybody.  This may be beginning for them, a ray of hope and giving the best shot to yet again to be GOLD…

The originator of the game is roaring like a lion in his own Den. Yes, England proves once again why it has the brightest chances to win the cup on the opening day of the 2019 world cup. England beaten South Africa very convincingly by 104 runs in the opener. Ben Stokes and wild Card Jofra Archer was the hero of the 1st day.

South Africa just not looked perfect team as most of us expected. Biggest setback was when Dale Steyn got injured in the warm-up match due to which he couldn’t play against England in the opening battle. In the batting also South Africa didn’t look promising to chase down the target. After a long time somehow I just felt the absence of AB DeVilliers, one of the master of the game in the world.

Jofra Archer, the man who just played 3 matches for England before he got included in the world cup squad. Once again he proved his mark and gave England early break through by taking 2 wickets early on and later later just put on brakes on South Africa chase by dismissing Van Der Dussen 50 who was going well.

Ben Stokes was adjudged the man of the match for a promising 89 and a couple of wickets giving a all rounder performance and making way easy for the English men against Proteas.

Proteas are not looking as strong side as they were in World Cup 2015, but they are still a very good and competitive team. Now, the question is, “Will South Africa be back in their old way and can perform their mark in this world cup”.

It seems interesting as anything can be happen here.. just wait and watch.

Cricket – The lord of the game.  The game brings all the different shades of colour of the world together. Cricket is just not needs any introduction, I believe it’s a well known game and everybody is aware with its euphoria. As the stage of World Cup is set and the curtain is already raised there is more and more excitement in the air and feels good also some hick-ups and goose bumps that ‘what’s going to happen in the later stage’,whether South Africa would be lucky this time and beat the rain to clinch the trophy.

Teams all set for the big stage and ready to prove to their mark in this game once again. Each team and every player is very much ecstasy to perform at such a high competitive arena. Ten teams and One cup, all are some way or others have different things, different speciality from each other, which makes it excited to go and follow the game.

Teams which have most effective chances are seems tough this time.

England, seems to be most prominent side playing in his own den and already set up a high standards in a great form side after defeating Pakistan prominently in a recent last month series.

 India, 2^nd most powerful side after England as continuously going good from a long time and if we compare all the teams matches played after the 2015 World Cup, the side has a highest winning percentage with maximum number of runs scored.

Australia, the side we just can’t ignore, already won the Cup 5 times just a special class. Every player of the team has some special effect which gives them supernatural power to deliver the high class performance.

South Africa, Whenever I am thinking of this team, I am just wondering can Proteas be LUCKY this time, if there is 3^rd team in the match- Rain, can they beat it, and move up the ladder. A power-pack team which can give any team a tough competition but how much unlucky they are in the world cup.

World Cup 1992, 2003 and 2015 – In each of the world cup the team affected by the rain, which became the reason for the Proteas to still wait for their maiden world cup.

New Zealand also arises as a strong team under the leadership of Kane Williamson. He took the team very strongly and the winning consistently after the world cup 2015 is setting a high standards and expectations from the team. Can NZ take away their maiden world cup this time.

Other teams like West Indies Pakistan and Sri Lanka are also good, no other team can take them lightly. On the given day they can easily give tough fight and defeat any strong team. Teams like Bangladesh and Afghanistan are underdogs but can be a dark horse. And Bangladesh already proved it earlier in the world cup 2007 by defeating India and South Africa in the competition.
